Sikkim/West Bengal - Singalila Ridge - Revised
Straddling the border with Nepal, the Singalila ridge leads down from the mighty Kangchenjunga massif to its north. It offers fantastic views of Kangchenjunga and of Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, the shapely Jannu and the mountains of Bhutan including Chomolhari, especially atmospheric at sunrise and sunset. This is a great alternative for those with less time or looking for an easier trek option.
During the trip, we also visit the hill station of Darjeeling, where echoes of the colonial era linger in its architecture, tea plantations and orchid gardens. We visit the monastery of Ghoom, the famous Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and enjoy sunrise over Kangchenjunga from the Tiger Hill viewpoint. |
