Chomolhari (Ann Foulkes)

Detailed Itinerary

This classic Bhutan trek to Chomolhari Base Camp is a great introduction to the scenery and culture of the Kingdom. From sightseeing in Paro we start our trek through farmland and mixed forests to the high alpine pastures. 7314m Chomolhari and 6856m Jitchu Drake dominate the trek, the latter first climbed by Doug Scott, Sharu Prabhu and Victor Saunders in 1988. Crossing two passes, we descend to Thimpu where we have time to explore the fascinating culture of this city including the Tashichhodzong.
